Joachim Quoden

Joachim Quoden has been fully licensed as lawyer in Bonn, Germany, since June 1995.

For 13 years he worked as in-house lawyer of the company “Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland GmbH” which is dealing with the organisation of the selective collection of packaging throughout all of Germany. The company is well-known by its trade mark “The Green Dot” and the Yellow Bin and sack emplyoed to collect used packaging from households.

Starting January 2001, he served as Head of International Affairs of DSD and was vested with general commercial powers of representation in 2003. Also in January 2001 he became Secretary General of PRO EUROPE, the umbrella organisation of 33 packaging recovery organisations located in 32 European countries and in Ontario, Canada. In April 2005 he was appointed General Manager of this organisation.

Mr. Quoden posseses very detailed knowledge of the implementation of the Packaging Directive in the different European Member States as well as in other countries around the world. His advice is frequently solicited in the course of implementing and amending the respective packaging legislation in various countries.
